Light & Heat Assistance Program
Urhai Community Service Center provides LIHEAP to low-income families in Chicago and Cook County Suburbs.
Every year in September since the establishment of the agency in 2001, assistance is provided thru CEDA (Community & Economic Development Association of Cook County) to help the low-income families pay their electric and also gas bills during the cold winter of Chicago.
In addition, and during the heatwave of summer, the agency provides assistance thru Cooling Program funded by CEDA to help elderly, disabled, and families with young children pay their electric bill during the heatwave of summer.
The agency also provides Power Up Program to help families who are over income pay their ComEd bills.
